April Conference Mt. Calvary

Last week we had the opportunity to be in PA for a week, participating in Mt. Calvary’s missions conference, and also the Spring Banquet for Mount Calvary Christian School, the Christian school connected to the church. The banquet had a missions theme, and I was privileged to participate with Andy Grosh, who has been in Papau New Guinea with Wycliffe Bible Translators forever. I grew up right up the road from Andy, and went with him to Intervarsity’s Urbana conference in 1984. He was a student at Moody Bible Institute then (where I later studied also), and I was a junior in high school (at MCCS). Andy was always an example for me. Now here we were, both with a lot of missionary miles under our belt, he more than I.

I like the way that Mt. Calvary organizes their missions conference, providing opportunity to speak to relatively small groups on three consecutive evenings. We feel like we’ve gotten to know the church a lot better over the last several years, having received a team of young people and leaders from Mt. Calvary for every summer since 2015 (and a group is headed down this summer also). Of course, it was a wonderful time to be with our two oldest kids, and the rest of the family. We were also able to meet with a group from Hope Community, also visiting us this summer.

Here’s a short video recapping the time.
