Mexico Matters Grows Up

Same ministry, new capacity for facilitating short-term teams and projects.

During our time in the U.S. we’ve wanted to solidify what we see as vital future ministry direction, and one of the areas that we’ve lacked is a good way or organizing our steady stream of short-term teams, as well as having a legitimate way of raising funds for projects. Now, with the legal formation of Mexico Matters as a 501(c)(3) entity, we’ll be able to do some of this much better.

We are very happy with Commission to Every Nation, our mission organization that facilitates our being in Mexico. One of the limitations of CTEN, however, is that in order to maintain a streamlined and administratively light structure, they do not receipt project funds. Nor is there a way to deal with the expense related to short-term teams.

So Mexico Matters as a corporate entity was born! We have received our Articles of Incorporation and have solicited tax-deductible status (currently waiting to hear confirmation). Our small board is formed and ready to meet soon for the first time.

Special thanks to Jessica to Jessica Jenkins for working on changing the look of the website, and for the heads up in using WordPress Gutenberg, WP’s newest update.  Thanks also to Samuel, who designed the Mexico Matters logo (and a bunch of other graphics help throughout the years!).
