Play. Eat. Sing. Eat. Teach. Eat, repeat…

Teaching. Eating. Singing. Eating. Playing. Eating. Ministering.

Do you see a pattern here?  So was our second weekend with a group of students from Word of Life Bible Institute, Mexico.

This weekend Karen Méndez joined us, and Lord willing she’ll be able to continue with Matheus, Cheila and Rebeca.

Our very first kids club at our current location had 11 kids in attendance, with a lot of potential for growth. Saturday afternoon was spent celebrating an anniversary at a nearby rehab center that we try to support, and ended with a meal of mole poblano and rice. Hmm. Youth group met at our house for the second week, with some new kids in attendance.

After youth group on Saturday, the Cottrills, the Word of Life crew and us had a planning time, brainstorming and dreaming about upcoming events, and what we would like to see in the new church plant. What a fun time! Keep in mind as you try to read the picture that I was writing side-ways and upside down half of the time!

We finished out the day eating alitas, or chicken wings, at a local restaurant.  We’ll not go into a whole lot of detail as to how several of us spent the wee hours of the morning with all that mole and hot sauce in our stomachs!

On Sunday, Rebeca and Karen taught the young people and Matheus and Cheila sung a closing number at the Jesús María church. Great times! Oh, then we finished out the weekend with some marinated chicken breast, pasta, salad and…wait for it…ice cream.
