Today (Wednesday, April 2) is the second Wednesday in a space of two weeks that Mexico City has instituted a Double No-Drive Day, which keeps even newer vehicles off the road when air pollution conditions are extreme. It so happens that both our vans’ license plates end in a 3 or 4, so today, we can’t drive either of them! Mexico City air quality, lately, has been horrible.
This past weekend was so much fun! On Friday night, 16 of us from the Jesus Maria and Palmas churches went to Puebla Bible Seminary, to participate in Don Moore’s worship workshop, entitled “Helping Others Joyfully Worship Jesus.” I met Don Moore and his wife many years ago. For a while he was involved in church with another friend, Kurt Horting (now at Still Water Community Church), later he came to several of our CAM International field fellowship conferences. I’ve always enjoyed his refreshing, Biblically-oriented approach to worship. He recently began his own mission ministry, called Worship Coaching International. Check it out!
We had a great time! Jeramel and the staff at the Seminary spoiled us, providing a spaghetti meal Friday night, and tamales for breakfast on Saturday. We all stayed overnight at the Seminary, and visited downtown Puebla late Friday night. It was a really special time.
On Sunday, the Jesus Maria church celebrated its 15th anniversary. Lots and lots of preparation went into the service, and it showed, with tasteful decorations, flower arrangements on the tables, good food and more. But what everyone really enjoyed were the participation from different groups in the church…the kids, youth, and women.
Congratulations!
