Art is Ministry

We are very much committed here to use all sorts of ways to express God’s LOVE and communicate God’s TRUTH to our neighbors.

I met with Samuel and Luis last night from 9:30 p.m. till the restaurant basically ran us out because we were the only guys in the place…we talked about a number of things, including a field-wide logo to for CAM Int’l internships to go with the theme “Border Crosser,” also a new logo for FAMEX, several ideas to promote upcoming church events and also discussion as to how to paint and decorate the youth room in the church.

The most exciting idea, however, for me was talk about how to use art to reach our community. The idea I presented them was turning our church into an art gallery in December, and having them both paint, draw and perhaps use photographs to visually present the true meaning of Christmas. Samuel also mentioned that he’d like to use grafitti this summer in a youth outreach…maybe in July. We’ll see how these ideas develop!
