My mom and dad left for PA this afternoon, and will, Lord willing, arrive in Baltimore around midnight, then a 2.5 hour drive home. I’m hoping that maybe they stay in a hotel instead of making that long drive late at night. We very much enjoyed their time with us.
Yesterday, almost all day, Dad constructed a pulpit for the church with two other men from the church, Samuel and Miguel. In the morning we all went to a place in Neza, about 30 minutes from here, to buy the lumber, plus a bunch of other items to construct the pulpit. On the way back we stopped for lunch and had carnitas, a very taste pork dish eaten in tacos, then to the church to assemble to pulpit.
I pretty much stayed out of everyone’s way, as construction is just not my thing, and let my dad have fun understanding without speaking Spanish. It was a long day, but a day that I’m sure dad will remember for quite some time. Pictures forthcoming.
