Car Theft!

Posted in

Today was a different day! Last Thursday David Gómez, our co-worker, went to Puebla with a friend to pick up a used VW bug that was purchased for him for the express purpose of supporting the mobilization and recruiting effort that is on-going here. Although the last model of the famous VW that was sold in the U.S. was way back in 1973, here in Mexico the famous bug was manufactured until 2003. David’s bug was purchased from a missionary couple, and was a dark blue 2003 bug.

He called this morning around 8:15 saying that it was no longer parked outside where he lives, which is where the church meets. It was stolen! He had it in his possession a whole 3 days! He hadn’t even done the title transfer yet. Fortunately the car was insured, although it might be some time before we are reimbursed for it. I took him to the local police station so he could fill out the required forms, etc… Please pray that the car is recovered, and if not, that we could receive a fair amount back from the insurance agency.

The message today was on Joshua 6, after that we invited the Cheshier family over for a good meal.
