Christmas in July. Sort of.

It’s a rare thing indeed to wake up on a 4th of July and find the world was turned white. Or at least gray. Apparently our friend Popo, the nearby active volcano, decided to shower us with some ash last night. Usually the wind takes the ash to the southeast, towards Puebla. Not this time. Ash is really a mess to clean up, and can cause all sorts of respiratory issues. So, ok, it’s sort of a fun novelty. For one day. Popo, you can send your powder to Puebla next time!

Today some demolition work happens on the church property. Excited about that! I’ll try to post a picture at some point.

Quote of the Day: God is all-knowing. Isn’t this an intimidating thought? Each of us, to some degree, fools our friends and family about who we really are. But it’s impossible to do that with God. He knows each of us, deeply and specifically. He knows our thoughts before we think them, our actions before we commit them, whether we are lying down or sitting or walking around. He knows who we are and what we are about. We cannot escape Him, not even if we want to.
