We’re gearing up for a full weekend, preparing for a “Mini-fería” or Mini-Fair in a public area in Geovillas Jesús María, right in front of the market area where we do our community center activities.
The theme of the evening will be the family, and we’re inviting families to take advantage of this fun event, which will include a ring toss, bingo, dart game, face painting and my personal favorite, toss a ping pong ball, win a real live fish! Plus many more activities. Peter Ogilvie apparently brought down some costumes, including a banana costume, so we’ll see what happens there!
We had initially invited a friend from Canada to come down and do the closing part of the program, but he was unable to come due to the delicate health of his aging mother. So I (Rod) will be doing some “magic” tricks and illustrations to help communicate the importance of having God involved in the life of one’s family.
Then next Saturday, the boys are organizing a soccer tournament in the neighborhood where they live, with a brief gospel presentation in the middle of the tournament. Over the past several weeks they’ve gotten to know a lot of kids from this area. We’d appreciate your prayers!
