Confirming Details

A group of around 20 people from Mt. Calvary Church, Elizabethtown PA will be arriving June 10, Lord willing, and we just confirmed a hearing aid event for the same day they arrive, at 5 p.m. on June 10, in a poor area on the very edge of civilization. Well, ok, maybe not quite that bad, but still a marginalized area in Ixtapaluca called Cuatro Vientos, or Four Winds. We will be presenting probably 20-30 people with donated hearing devices, and using the opportunity to present the gospel.

I also met with Pastor Elías today. He is pastor of possibly the most historically significant Protestant church in all of Mexico…La Santísima Trinidad (The Holy Trinity), a Methodist church more well known by the name Gante 5, which is the church’s address in Mexico City’s historic center.  The church is located a stone-throw away from Palacio de Bellas Artes (Fine Arts Palace) and the Torre Latinoamericana (Latin American Tower), and was built in 1621. Yes, think Pilgrims. It was initially the courtyard of a Spanish Viceroy’s residence, nearly 400 years ago, converted into a Franciscan convent, and over the years used as a circus’s auditorium, an orphanage, and who knows what else.  Today it is a magnificently beautiful place of worship. Valley Bible Church‘s Choir and worship band will be singing here Sunday evening, July 17.

Still struggling to get wheelchairs…hope that happens soon. I sent 34 forms into Operation Blessing today, complete with name, age, physical condition and socioeconomic level. Need to get those chairs soon!
