David Crazy…and other prayer requests

David is with his multiple student intern friends at Word of Life Bible Institute Mexico this week, participating along with Benjamin and Sergio (from the JM church) in a “Week of Bible Institute,” designed with teenagers in mind. The theme this year is “Deepening Your Faith.” What a quiet house it is with David somewhere else!! We’ll see if WOL can handle him for a week?!?  We’ll see if I’m able to take advantage of the week and de-stress!  Ha.

We’re excited to participate in a the first Good Friday and Easter service of the new Palmas 1 church plant this weekend, remembering the suffering of our Lord Jesus and His triumph over death.

Later on this month, several of us fly to Leroy Community Chapel, to participate in their missions conference. We’re excited! The theme for our part of the conference…Creative Engagement. Wow, that’s a great topic to talk about! A trip to the U.S. also provides an avenue to bring back a bunch more reading glasses (200), plus some additional hearing aids, all on the docket to be donated at a series of outreach events the end of this month. And we are excited to touch base with some of our good friends at LCC. Check out this post entitled Wheelchair Rumble for some info on LCC’s time with us back in June, 2012.

Speaking of which…pray for the weekend of April 28-30. We’ve invited the 15-member drama group from Word of Life Institute to do a drama entitled Renacidos, or “Born Again.” In conjunction with the concerts, we’ll be distributing hearing aids and glasses, preaching the gospel…and enjoying a lucha libre (professional wrestling, Mexican style) presentation in a nearby neighborhood at the conclusion of the play.  We’ll be in the municipal auditorium Friday night, a nearby neighborhood on Saturday, and right down the road from Sendero 1 Santa Bárbara on Sunday.  Should be fun!
