David’s Season as an E-town Bear

Posted in ,

Mini-Neymar. After Neymar’s rather weak performance in the World Cup, with all the flopping and crying he did, maybe he has lost some of his shine. But this has been a nickname for David, and an apt one after a great first season with the Elizabethtown Bears. It’s been a rare pleasure for us to go to almost all of his games this fall.

The Bears ended the season with a 9-5-2 record, and classified for district playoffs. They lost their first district playoff game against Wilson High School. It was great for us to be “soccer parents” for a season, and we appreciated the immediate community we felt from the parents. Among David’s teammates, a foreign exchange student from Spain and Germany.

A special thanks to David’s coaches, James Sostack and Elder, who were able to build into his life, teaching him soccer and life skills.

David was chosen to be on the All-Star team as a sophomore, something that doesn’t happen often. Below, some pictures of his season and of the awards banquet last night.
