Help for the Flood Victims in Tabasco

Posted in

Beginning today we are collecting bottled water, non-perishable foods, medicines, diapers, etc… to send to victims of the flooding in Tabasco. The images of the flooding that have been televised over the last several days are truly sobering. Over 60% of Tabasco’s capital city, Villahermosa, is flooded, with floodwaters 3-5 ft. in many areas.

Through a contact in the church we will be partnering with another church here in Ixtapaluca to send a truck directly to the area of need, to evangelical churches there. The church we are partnering with is by far the biggest evangelical church in this whole area, with around 400 members. It is affiliated with Christ for the Nations, based in Dallas, TX (I think).

I’ve written to some over you already via Facebook. If you would like to donate towards this relief effort, and in a very direct way (you can be sure that the truck will get there, the goods will be distributed, etc…), please contact us immediately, so we can count on your donation and buy more food. This is not, at least currently, an official CAM project, so donations will not be receipted as tax-deductible. The food and medicine needs to be on the truck by this weekend, so please don’t delay! Our email… ro*********@ho*****.com Thanks!
