Holy Week activities, more Pics and Video

Posted in

This past week was a full one, with services at the church on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, and Sunday morning early (Sunrise service with bonfire). It has been a thrill to see Martin and Miguel begin to take charge of the church, giving it their unique leadership perspective. On Thursday evening we started at around 8:30 p.m. and ended around 12:45 a.m….a rather lengthy service during which time we reflected through scripture reading and singing on the Lord’s supper. Several people continued a prayer vigil until 4:30 a.m. Friday morning.

I arrived late Sunday morning, because of another important ministry assignment…be there as a representative of our national missions agency here, FAMEX, as our first Mexican missionary couple departed to a closed country. I’ll not mention any more details, but suffice it to say that it was a moving goodbye.

I asked Jim Cottrill for some more pictures and video of two weeks ago. I’ve posted some more here. Toño Muñoz preached, Laura Guaza sang and the cake said, “maintaining the unity of the body in the bonds of peace”.

  1. Ok, I’ve seen the videos!
The cake… at a kid’s birthday party last weekend, a 2.5-yr-old managed to get his face right above the cake before his parents could drag him away. If I knew the family better, I would have given him a mordida!!
