Ahh, the smell of fresh cut pine (well, pine that was cut somewhere in Canada, or perhaps Michigan, and arrived at your local supermarket recently). We set up our tree today, a bit late according to the majority of our neighbors, who already have trees up and decorated.
Another great smell…fresh brewed coffee! Check below for info on Hope Coffee.

Giving with a Purpose
The people of El Nisporo, Honduras carry on a Lenca Indian tradition. Men cultivate and harvest the tule reed in fields around their village. Then the women take over, preparing and weaving the tule. Preparing the reed for weaving is an involved process requiring several days to complete. Originally, tule was used to weave sleeping mats called petates, but now a variety of products are woven using the same traditional techniques. We asked these women to create a coffee gift box from the tule reed which we purchase to help provide valuable income for their families. When you buy a HOPE Coffee gift box made from this tule reed, the profits from your purchase go directly into building homes for Honduran families in need through our local churches. It’s a gift that keeps on giving! Purchase a Coffee Gift Box today and join the COFFEE BOX STORY. Download the poster and share it with your friends.

Lives Impacted
Aulalia, a widowed believer, has lived in a stick and mud home with her five children. A few weeks ago, however, her home flooded with the heavy rains in Honduras. The local pastor stepped in and began to help build a new home for her family. The roofing was donated and HOPE Coffee was able to help by providing funds to hire workers to build the walls and pour the floor. What a great way to show the love of Christ. Since the local church had no physical building in which to meet, this new building project will meet this need as well. Aulalia’s new house includes an extended porch on which the local church plant will meet each Sunday. In addition to this physical blessing, a spiritual blessing came through the ministry of this local church a week before the flooding when three of Aulalia’s kids trusted Christ!
