Mount Calvary and Liebenzell Interns

Our summer started off with a bang, receiving three Liebenzell U.S.A. interns (Joshua, Amanda and Rafael), as well as a team of 18 people from Mount Calvary Church. A couple notables about the Mt. Calvary team…there were a lot of father/mother and son/daughter combos, the guys outnumbered the girls 12 to 6, and nearly everyone was TALL! So their main outreach, basketball, made a lot of sense. Neighbors were invited to play informally with the group from Tuesday-Thursday, and the week culminated in a 3v3 tournament, in which 18 teams competed. It was intense!

Joshua, Amanda, and Rafael participated with the group, and are now (today) on their way to Guadalajara to participate with Fernando Amezcua and the Iglesia Bíblica Gracia, in their effort to plant another four churches.

A group of 8 people from Word of Life Chapel arrived in the rain last night…and began cooking/baking classes as well as an extensive electrical installation in the JM church. More on the Wolc team on the next post.

Combined youth group activity
Eye glasses and hearing aid donation event
Getting to know local law enforcement
Basketball outreach all week, with evangelistic messages
Lots of painting accomplished
Lots and lots of good food
Three days of English involvement in a local high school, and a skit and message on the last day.
Interns on their way to Guadalajara…don’t they look excited!
