Oaxaca Men’s Week 2016

After our week in CA with Valley Bible we arrived home on a Monday night. On Tuesday I was able to get some donated medicine from a local non-profit, and on Wednesday morning, seven of us were on our way to Oaxaca for Adventures in Life Ministry‘s annual men’s week. You can read Dave Miller’s report on the week HERE.

This year I took five men from a local drug and alcohol rehab center, including the director, Francisco and his son Mijael. Son David also went. They worked hard! The project this week…construct a 1200 square foot patio area with fire ring for use in summer camps and other gatherings.

I didn’t do much. When we arrived Wednesday evening I started with the shivers and a fever, and went to the doctor on Thursday. My contribution…being taxi driver for whatever errand needed to be done, most important of which…buying A LOT of meat for the annual Friday night MEAT FEST!

As always it was a tremendous blessing to spend time with Gaspar and his wife Estella and three kids. The “ranch” is home to a rabbit farm, lots of goats, chickens, a couple of cows and creative horticulture.

Enjoy the pictures.
