Paying bills

Posted in

For those of you in the U.S. with a dependable mail service and the possibility of electronic bill payment, what I’m going to mention is probably pretty unfathomable, but this is reality here.

On Friday I went to 4 different banks in two different towns to stand in line and deposit money.

Scotiabank Inverlat
Daniel and Cathy’s monthly school payment
the maintenance and security payment for our housing complex

Bancomer
Rent

Banamex
payment for shipping of Samaritan’s Purse Christmas presents (70 cents per box)

Santander Serfin
payment for a conference on teamwork sponsored by a religious association (for tomorrow)

In all of these banks I had to have my cash ready and wait in line. Fortunately I went during a time that wasn’t too busy…otherwise…this can take the better part of a morning!
