Snow on the Volcanoes

Co-worker Jim Cottrill took several pictures this morning of the spectacular view we have from where we live of the volcanoes. Check out several more of his pictures in his blogpost today entitled Snowy Sunrise. There is an unusual winter storm system moving through Mexico right now, one of 6 such weird weather systems moving through the northern hemisphere right now.

Mayra is speaking this weekend at a ladies conference for the church in Santa Bárbara.  Approximately 25 women are attending this overnight event, at a retreat center near the pyramids at Teotiohacán. I’m sure she is doing a great job, talking about the Keys to Joy.

This morning Tina and Tiffany are doing our second annual church Easter Egg hunt. If you’re wondering whether that’s a custom here in Mexico, well, it’s not, and last year, when they wanted to do it for the first time, I was a bit, ah, skeptical! But it was a huge hit. This year they will be hiding upwards of 1200 plastic eggs, as well as dozens of hard boiled ones, with special prizes. We would appreciate your prayers for this outreach.

Quote of the Day: Obeying God is worked out within well-defined boundaries of God’s revealed will. Trusting God is worked out in an arena that has no boundaries. We do not know the extent, the duration, or the frequency of the painful, adverse circumstances in which we must frequently trust God. We are always coping with the unknown.
Bridges, Jerry. Trusting God: Even When Life Hurts  (p. 18). .
