TESOL and Sports Day #2

Posted in

Fun night last night watching the 6th game of the NBA finals with Mike Contreras and Teo (or Leo or Toe ha ha) Moreno. So much wanted the Spurs to finish things last night, but alas it was not to be!

Marcy Metzger is teaching up an English storm today. She needed to be at a nearby Jr. Hi at 7 a.m. this morning, and will be teaching pretty much constantly up through 5:30 p.m. tonight at two different schools. Gotta get those 72 hours of MBI TESOL requirements! Probably the most difficult internship to sponsor. That’s a lot of hours!

Day #2 of our sports camp saw higher numbers, upwards of 50 kids yesterday. Great to see how the church has come around the activity, with a number of young people helping out with the sports activities (Hector, Jon, Sammy, Chucho, Dorian), and many women helping out with the snacks, water, etc…

Check out some fun pictures below.

Quote of the Day: That was Harvard University. Then educators began Yale and William & Mary and Princeton and Brown with the same founding purpose, that the main end of one’s life and studies is to know God and Jesus Christ. All but one school started before the American Revolution was begun to serve the Jesus movement. Ninety-two percent of the first 138 colleges and universities founded in America were begun for followers of this uneducated, itinerant, never-wrote-a-book Carpenter.
