Two Weeks of Fruitful Ministry (part 1)

We have been pleased to host two church groups over the past two weeks. Gary, Kathy, Denny, Matt, Melissa, Ken, Diana and Jackie  from Word of Life Chapel ministered in the Jesus Maria church, and were engaged in two primary activities: baking/cooking classes and electrical work. The team was actually an official I-TEC team as well, which stands for International Technical Electric and Construction. You can check out a bunch of blog posts by Gary, the team leader, on this blog: I-TEC Mexico City 2022. The I-TEC team installed a bunch of additional lighting, re-wired and re-accommodated the existing system, and overall greatly improved the electrical system in the JM church.

The women taught two, four-hour baking classes, alternating with Chef Joel, a Mexican chef that visited us for the week from Campeche, especially for his involvement in this week of cooking. They gave 2 classes from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., then another two classes from 4-8 p.m., from Wednesday to Friday. On Saturday, along with a hearing aid and reading glasses donation outreach event, the 43 participants in the classes received a diploma for their participation in the classes. Ken Rutt presented his cross puzzle, which was a real hit! Check it out here: https://thecrosspuzzle.com/

A special thanks to Sam and Aurora, and to Erik and Moni, who hosted the group. Below…a few pictures of their time here.

Lots of existing lighting repaired, and a bunch of new lights installed.
The ladies taught 4 baking classes, every day from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., then again from 4-8 p.m.
Rotating with the baking classes, Chef Joel taught the group how to make delicious Mexican meals.
Over 100 people from the community attended the closing event, where diplomas were awarded, and people received reading glasses and hearing aids. The gospel was clearly presented.
The group enjoyed a very deserved day off in beautiful Cholula, Puebla.
