Yesterday was a fun day at church, with probably a record attendance. I always get a kick out of how many more people fit into any room here in Mexico. Our meeting place would probably seat 40 in the U.S. Here…well, easily between two and three times that. Many of the men surrendered their chairs so that the women could have a seat. Chivary is not dead in Mexico. Yes, we need a new place to meet! And guess what…soon, we’ll have one!
The interns flew to Guadalajara on Friday, and participated in a youth retreat with Iglesia Bíblica Gracia and Fernando Amezcua this past weekend. Below, a picture of one of their group times.
Today we make the first two payments towards making modifications on the church property, starting with the demolition of the current constructions (pig sties). We’ll be using the rubble to fill in the front part of the property. We’ll also be acquiring a permit to eventually open up a wall and cut some trees down. Exciting! A big thanks to a member of Word of Life (you know who you are!) for the $ for these permits. I’d mention your name, but I don’t want you to lose your reward!
Happy Canada Day to our co-workers the Cottrills and all our other Canadian friends.
Quote of the Day: Anyone who stops learning is old, whether this happens at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps on learning not only remains young, but becomes constantly more valuable regardless of physical capacity. —Harvey Ullman
