Weekend activities in Ixtapaluca

Posted in

This past Friday evening David Gomez organized a youth conference/concert, with a motivational talk entitled “Youth with a Purpose: From Invisible to Invincible.” Colombian friend Laura Guaza (pictured with Mayra below) sang, and the evening concluded with a performance by several of the young people in the church. It was…memorable.

This morning we bought about 120 hot dogs and buns for a youth hot dog give-away with the interns and young people at the church. Actually the Fry family never got there, as we were invited to a neighbor’s birthday party, celebrated behind our house in the grassy, patio area.

Tomorrow (almost today) we have a baptismal celebration, where both churches in Ixtapaluca will head about an hour away to a public swimming area to witness, Lord willing, the baptism of around 14 people. I would appreciate your prayers for a devotional I’ll be giving during that time.

Mayra is feeling a bit weary, a bit sick…no wonder all that she does! You might want to pray for her. The pictures below are from the activity last night and the tacos afterward!
