We so enjoyed two couples who visited us here in Ixtapaluca for the last week or so. Pete and Beth Gross served with our mission for 15+ years in Puebla, a neighboring city. They came down with their good friends and ministry partners, Zach and Vonnie Netzley. The Gross’s have four kids, all of which pretty much grew up in Mexico and are bilingual. The Netzleys have six kids, three biological and three adopted. They work together in a Hispanic ministry in Indiana, as well as their involvement in their respective English speaking churches.
It was neat to see how quickly both of these couples integrated into our church community here, how desirous they were of learning a bit more about Mexican culture, and eating EVERYTHING! Pete fortunately left here before running out of jokes (barely), and Zach finally managed to pull out a last minute win in a board game at the airport before having to hurry to catch a plane!
Quote of the Day: Countless well-intentioned people believe in God but don’t know him personally. Many of us look the part. Or we think we’re Christians because, you know, it’s not like we’re Buddhists. We believe in God, but our lives don’t reflect who he really is.
