Answers to Prayer

This morning I was getting nervous. I still didn’t know where exactly we were going to deliver the goods we are purchasing. I didn’t have the use of our van, because my visa (which expired October 2) hadn’t been renewed. But tonight is a different story. Through a good friend and fellow missionary Tim Blycker […]

Care package contents

These products are what we plan to put in each care package. Given the willingness of at least one store to package the products for us, we may alter somewhat the contents, but for now this is what we’re planning. 10 liters de agua–2.5 gallons bottled water1 caja fécula de arroz (1 kilo)–1 box rice

Tabasco Update

An update on the relief aid that we’re sending to Tabasco…to date we have received over $1400 in pledges towards this project, and $939 has been deposited in our account. Last night 5 of us from the church met to continue to plan for this project. We presented letters to a local Sams Club and

Tabasco update

CAM International will very soon make the Tabasco relief project an official field project. This will help considerably with administrating the funds received, as well as provide a means to receive a tax-deductible receipt. A vote to approve the project is pending. A huge response…

The maximum amount I can realistically receive is around $2000, simply because my ATM daily

Maze Day 2

Our second day was a-mazing too…with probably 150 people passing through our laberinth. Thanks for all your prayers. Yesterday we celebrated the Lord’s supper as a church. Here’s a recent pic of us. A prayer request…about 60% of the entire state of Tabasco, in southeast Mexico, is flooded. The Mexican president has called it one

Our first night in the maze!

Last night in the maze was a huge success…with somewhere between 160-190 people going through the house in groups of 5-8. This picture is of the tent that we put up outside on the street for the people to wait to go in. I spoke to Laura afterward…she mentioned 4 children and one adult that

Television spots

Funny thing happened today…I was on T.V. twice, promoting the activity we have planned for this weekend. There is a small, local cable channel, channel 6, that also publishes a small, monthly newspaper that we have periodically advertised in, and through that contact we were invited to appear in two separate live programs today. At

Maze construction

Construction of the church maze for this Friday and Saturday night has continued in earnest since last Saturday. Last night I was at the church until 11. The basic structure on the first floor is pretty much finished. Modifications include a pretty elaborate ramp and a lot of boards and beams fastened to the concrete
