Celebration of Life Event

Posted in

Mexico has begun to celebrate Halloween October 31, but the more Mexican holiday, if you can call it that, are the two days that follow…Day of the Dead. On the one day, deceased children are remembered, and on the other, adults. All and all, these are pretty dark days, where many families offer “sacrifices” in the form of tables filled with fruits and vegetables, and the favorite foods of the deceased.

Last night we began plans for our Christian alternative to these macabra celebrations, a Celebration of Life Day. The event will very likely be called “The Laberynth of Life and Death.” We plan to use both upstairs and downstairs of the church, creating a maze that emphasizes Biblical principles in a creative way. We have it scheduled for Saturday, October 27.
