Daniel’s Recovery from Knee Surgery

Posted in

As you may recall, our son Daniel tore both his ACL and MCL in the last two minutes of the last football game of the season, with the Elizabethtown Bears. His primary position was middle linebacker, but on the play he was injured he was running the ball on offense as a fullback. Boom!

Daniel had a great season, earning the co-defensive player of the year award with 95 tackles last season. You can take a look at some of his crazy highlights HERE.

He underwent surgery on January 6, and the doctor was happy with the surgery. His subsequent recovery, physical therapy, etc…has been a difficult time, but has gone smoothly.  He has now been cleared to drive, to go back to work at a local restaurant, and to generally return to more of a normal life. He still will need to wear a brace for the next several months. But we praise God for his recovery. Thank you for your prayers. We still are navigating the turbulent waters of health insurance and health share issues…or rather my mother is! A big thanks to her for dealing with all of that.

We look forward to a visit from Daniel the end of this month. He also plans to accompany a group of 20 or so from Mt. Calvary Church in June.

This summer is going to be a lot of fun, with different church groups visiting us from Mt. Calvary Church, Vista Fellowship, Valley Bible Church, and Hope Community Church.
