Full first day with the Valtierra family

Posted in

We picked up Samuel and family Tuesday evening at Philadelphia and took them to where they’re staying, the West Ridge Road Bed and Breakfast, a place right down the road from our house. Then yesterday we visited my dad’s workplace, Messiah Village, a very nice retirement and nursing facility near Mechanicsburg, PA. From there, on to Hershey Chocolate World, which includes a ride that shows how chocolate is made, depositing you in a huge room full of chocolate. Now, who isn’t going to buy chocolate then?! That’s probably why the ride is free, right?

From there we cruised over to Harrisburg and visited Bass Pro Shop. That doesn’t sound like a fun stop, but the store is really incredible, with a huge aquarium, a climbing wall (Daniel loved that), and tons and tons of guns and fishing rods and boats and ATVs…you name it. Quite an American store. Then…back to Papa and Mama Frys house for PA Dutch cooking…Pot pie, corn on the cob, sweet and sour carrots, then zuchinie (how do you spell that word…a green squash) chocolate cake, woopie pies, ice cream. Oh my goodness! My dad said to Samuel that he needs to gain at least 10 lbs while he’s here. I’m sure he’s on his way. I am too!

Oh, I forgot to mention that we stopped at Micheal’s for a bunch of art stuff for this Sunday.

We finished out the day fishing and swimming. A pretty full day! Today…Sight and Sound!
