LCC Pastoral Visit at 12,000 ft.

Posted in

After a pretty busy summer it has been great to hang out and fellowship with Jeff Pierce and Josh Bennett. Jeff and Josh stopped by to visit us a couple of days after a Leroy Community Chapel trip to Guatemala. We just said goodbye to a group of 10 from our home church, that visited us here for a week.

So for the last two days, Mayra and Cathy have been up with Mayra’s family, and the boys and I have been doing the pizza and taco diet with Jeff and Josh!  Today we drove up to above 12,000 ft. the Paso de Cortez, or Cortez’s pass, and enjoyed a beautiful, clear view of Mexico’s most famous snow-covered volcanoes.  It’s been good to debrief, relax, and enjoy the fellowship of good friends.

Quote of the Day: Who is greater? “Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.” That is, I am among you as the busboy. Next time you go to a restaurant, look around and ask yourself, In God’s eyes, where are the great ones? Where’s Jesus? We all know about how life works and who’s wearing what label and and who can afford what on the menu and who has how much in their wallet. Where is greatness in God’s eyes?
