Leadership “what would you do if” time…and tacos

Posted in

Last night Mayra and I went to sleep sometime after 12:30 last night. Here’s why.

We invited Jose Antonio and Becky Muñoz to participate with us in a special leadership training time last night (picture below with daughter Jesica). Also participating: Martín and Laura Méndez and Miguel and Tania Islas. Lord willing we will be recognizing the church’s first elder and deacon March 29. Also present, CAM missionary Jim Cottrill and CAM missionary appointee Darrol Prussia.

We are desiring to make this leadership recognition as process more than an event. Last night we talked a lot about hypothetical leadership situations, than more likely than not these new church leaders will have to confront.

What about different social issues unique to Mexico (15 birthday celebrations), what about marriage ceremonies, and teenage pregnancies. How about spiritual warfare issues, and what is the church’s position on the charismatic gifts? It was a great time.

Afterwards, Toño wanted to eat tacos, and I said, you know, bro, I don’t think we should, it’s really too late. Yeah, of course that’s what I said. We ate tacos al pastor and tacos de bistek con queso until late, talking and laughing with them. It was a great night at a lot of different levels.
