Greetings from Ixtapaluca! This season of ministry has been a bit different for us, as since March we have been sharing our ministry time between the Palmas and now Jesús María church. I’m preaching for the next 4 Sundays in Jesús María, and we’ve begun to combine the youth groups of the two churches. This Saturday will be our first joint meeting. We actually celebrated Mother’s Day last Sunday here…Mother’s Day is always May 10, so churches have to decide whether to celebrate it the Sunday before the the Sunday after. Each mother received a bouquet of red roses!
This month is a busy one! This weekend our daughter Cathy will be visiting for a couple of weeks. The next weekend, Frank from Still Water Community Church comes, along with another couple from the church, to finish out our current theology class entitled Biblical Preaching and Pastoral Ministry. Then the following weekend I have a Puebla Bible Seminary board meeting. Oh, did I mention that Andrew Polizzi is coming soon also; then in June a group of 25 people from Mount Calvary Church, followed by a group in July from Word of Life Chapel and Mount Joy Church of God. Lots of excitement!

The Sendero Bible Church of Jesús María celebrated 14 years as a church in the beginning of April. The Sendero Palmas church was also in attendance. Nine people were baptized between the two churches. What a great time of celebration!
Every month we spend a Saturday and Sunday morning ministering in a variety of ways to a nearby hospital. Every time we go, we take at least 80 tortas (a Mexican sandwich made with fresh bread), coffee, tea, and often sweet bread. It’s an opportunity to share with both patients, relatives of patients, hospital staff, security guards and whoever else happens to be nearby.
