Our Slogans Say a lot about Us

Posted in

Slogans or saying reveal much about an organization, a workplace, or a church.  There are a lot of business-oriented books that have a lot to say about this, among them Ideas that Stick and The Tipping Point.  What’s a slogan at your church?  Is it positive or negative?  Whatever it is, it will likely reveal quite a bit about the ambient of your place of worship.

Sayings from the Organic Church movement, from church3.0, Neil Cole, p. 183

“We want to lower the bar of how we do church so everyone can do it, and raise the bar of what it means to be a disciple so that everyone will do it.”

“If you want to win this world to Christ, you’re going to have to sit in the smoking section.”

“Bad people make good soil for the gospel; there’s a lot of fertilizer in their lives.”

       Heard around church here…

“We want our faith to be valid every day, not just on Sunday.”

“People can get judged at work, at school or on the street, but at church they should experience community.”

“Jesus didn’t save us for us to go from one religious system to another different one.”
