Where in the World are the Valtierras?

Posted in

We returned from the beach this afternoon to a beautiful, albeit rainy Fry residence.  The Valtierras went up to New York City today, by train with Cari Beenenga (and Bill?), so we thought we’d see them tonight, but I’m sure we’ll catch up with them tomorrow.  Melanie must have made it to the New Jersey shore also. I spoke to Denny on the phone quite a while, they had a great time at his cabin, and were able to minister at a small church near his cabin…sounds like they’ve had quite a time so far!

I’m working on details for tomorrow’s service.   Except for this blog entry.  Cousin Chris stopped by tonight for a while…always good to see him.

Below, a video Tina put together about the ministry in Ixtapaluca, with a special focus on the community center ministry.  I cannot emphasize enough the power of good works and good news, presented lovingly together!  Our next semester of community center activities starts September 17 and goes for 12 weeks.

Books I’m reading…It’s Our Ship: The No-Nonsense Guide to Leadership Captain D. Michael Abrashoff
(recommended by Matt Steele), Leading at a Higher Level, by Ken Blanchard, and finishing up The Reason for God, by Timothy Keller

Any good book recommendations?  Please send them my way.
