July 4th Celebration

Posted in

Yesterday we celebrated the 4th in style, with A LOT of hamburgers and hot dogs, with maybe 20 people in our house.

Later in the day, after another very successful kids club, we said goodbye to Myhiah (boo hoo) and set off some firecrackers.  The bottom picture looks like we were setting the world on fire, but it was really a pretty modest celebration!  There were some kids who probably shouldn’t have had lighters…I will say that…and several of them were our kids!

Kids club continued today.  What has perhaps set this kids club apart is the amount of adults that have also come to the club, and a good amount of young people too, many of them people we’ve never seen before.  Most of the adults are non-church people.  Many of the young people are too.

A big thanks to Ismael and Marta, and daughter Elba, for coordinating everything, and for so many other people who support this ministry in big and small ways.

Quote of the Day: A man can no more diminish God’s glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, ‘darkness’ on the walls of his cell.  C. S. Lewis
