Mexico celebrates this week

Posted in

This year Mexico celebrates both its 200 year birthday as an independent country (1810-1821) as well as 100 years of liberty from dictatorship (1910 Revolution after 30 years under Porfirio Díaz). Mexico generally is pretty good at parties: this one is shaping up to be huge. Kids have off school from Wednesday, the whole way through the weekend.

We are planning a celebration of our own on Tuesday evening, at the community center. Should be a lot of fun!
