The Ransoms and a Soccer Game

Posted in

Last Thursday Daniel and Erin Ransom joined the group. Daniel first visited us 5 years ago…the first year we coordinated the internship program here. Daniel is a student at Gordon Conwell Seminary, Erin is a kindergarten teacher. It is great to have them here with us!

Yesterday we enjoyed a church service in a rented tent…the U.S. students did a drama and some special music. David preached. After the service 3 families from the church came home with us, and we grilled hamburgers, hotdogs, lamb and chorizo on the grill. And watched the U.S. and Mexico play the Gold Cup final.

Charles bet the guards at the entrance to our neighborhood that the U.S. would win…and they did, 2-1. Unfortunately one of the goals came as a result of a dubious penalty call…but a win is a win I guess. The U.S. has become increasing dominant in CONCOCAF, our region of the world. Our guests left around 8:30…we were tired after a very long day. The guards owe Charles some tacos!

Brad is feeling better today after a bout with a stomach virus! Drink that Gatorade.
